Keep updated on George's progress through the eyes of Kristin.
Their Story
George was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (also know as "preleukemia") in October 2009 and is in need of a bone marrow transplant.
George and his wife, Kristin have two young boys that attend Green Local Schools. The entire family has been active members of the Boy Scout (Troop 336) / Cub Scout (Pack 3330) program in the area for over 8 years. George served in the US Marine Corps for 6 years and was working full-time as a truck driver. Due to the nature of his illness he is unable to work. This illness will have a devastating financial impact on this family. At this time in order to maintain insurance Kristin is working full-time.
Family and friends are committed to helping this family during this difficult and emotional time. Committees are currently being set up to help with benefit dinners such as a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, December 5, 2009, Basket Raffles and much more.
To help relieve the stress of the holiday friends have decided to "Adopt the Diaz Family" for Christmas. The Committee is in the process of creating lists of needs and wants. Please check this site often for updates.
If you are interested in helping in anyway please feel free to contact Jean Hedrick at 330-524-0383.
